Simply Complicated was founded by Grant Tucker and Ray Penny on the cliche that "there is always more than meets the eye." Our first clothing line went by the name of 32 Clothing which was soon shutdown due to our lack of research when we chose our name since there was already a successful snowboarding company with the same exact name. When this happened we didn't really know what to do or where to start with a new brand because we had put so much time and effort into 32, and then randomly one day we described the whole situation as Simply Complicated. When Ray first said this I immediately had hundreds of ideas rush through my had and decided that we HAD to run with this concept and his proven to be one of the best accidents that either of us has ever been a part of. All of our designs have a deeper meaning or visual representation than you can see at first glance. Whether it be symbolism through colors and shapes or a play on words in the title; every tee has a meaning or purpose and this is how we feel that we set ourselves apart from the thousands of other brands out there. WHAT IS SIMPLY COMPLICATED ABOUT?

Simply Complicated is not just another clothing line that goes out with a couple tees and says “we’re fresh buy some shirts,” we are a line that puts just about as much thought into every design that a president would put into his foreign policy. No matter what we design it will always have a message tied into the piece as a whole.

Started by two young men with aspirations to do better than their peers, SC Apparel is that rose that grew from concrete. Simply Complicated, or SCApparel.net, is bringing a new edge to street wear.

PRLog (Press Release) – Apr 15, 2009 – An astronaut, a barbershop, Albert Einstein; all are inspiration for eighteen year-old Grant Tucker. Simply Complicated is definitely not your average street wear company. The designs are simple at first glance, but upon closer examination, reveal meticulous attention to detail. From concept to creation, each piece is planned and executed thoroughly. More than just tees, they are works of art. They are just as the name denotes, “simply complicated.”

Screen tees mark the humble beginnings of the blooming “word of mouth” business, which will eventually graduate to cut and sew items. In the near future, fitted caps, jeans, hoodies and various smaller accessories are to be made available.

“Lots of street wear companies just take a photo, slap it on a tee and call it street wear. I don’t want to blend in,” illustrates Tucker. “I want to create things that will stand out. I want people to look at their shirt while they’re wearing it.”

One fact that especially sets Simply Complicated apart from the rest, are the ages of its two creators. Tucker is a tender eighteen years-old, while Ray Penny is twenty-three. Being that the duo is relatively young and notably imaginative, they will prove to be a breath of fresh air to the urban genre of the fashion industry. One will get the feeling of exclusivity and originality that most other companies do not offer. Also, modestly priced, Simply Complicated will show it is a force to be reckoned with.
