One day in Japan, there was this young boy named James Keoni Arizumi he loved to hang out with his friends and collect shoes. It was one of his many hobbies. In his school all of the other kids liked to collect baseball cards and play video games, but he was different and liked to collect shoes. James loved to save up money and buy shoes because he thought that was being mature and responsible. He saved up for this one pair he wanted the most, there were called the “Mama Bears”. The shoe deserved that name because the material on the shoe is made with fur. The “Mama Bears” were one of the three shoes in the whole pack. There were “Baby Bears”, “Mama Bears”, and “Papa Bears”. He already had the Baby Bears so he had two more shoes to get the whole pack. He saved up for 2 whole months to get the Mama Bears. He got enough money for them! He was so happy, when he went to sleep he dreamed about getting those Mama Bears on his feet and wearing them and showing them off to his friends. When he woke up he got ready for school, put on a sky blue tee shirt on to match his Baby Bears. School went by so slow because all he was thinking about were his Mama Bears, and how happy he would be to get them. It was two twenty nine, one more minute to go until he can leave school and get his Mama Bears. The bell rang! Schools done, him and his friends walked to the store to get his shoes. When he got to the store he tried the shoes on and he was so happy to finally have the feeling of them on. It was time for them to leave the store so he had to pay for his Mama Bears. The cahier told James the shoes came out to two-hundred and twenty dollars and ninety-five cents. James went into his wallet and took out four fifty dollar bills, one twenty dollar bill and one dollar bill. His change was five cents. He was so glad he got them. After James gave the cashier the money him and his friends left the store. They had to cross the road to get back home, him and his friends held hands and looked both ways before they crossed the street. When he got home the first thing he did was show his parents. His family was really important to him, he loved them very much and wouldn’t know what he would do without them. They were very impressed with the shoes and proud that he earned his money the old fashioned way, just like they had to do when they were his age.
It was dinner time, his parents asked him what he learned in school today. In his head he was saying “ I learned how furry the Mama Bears are!”, but of course he couldn’t of said that to his parents so he responded with “using words that sound the same, but have different meanings” because that was the only thing he remembered his teacher saying during class. His parents asked “Like what words?”. He got scared for a second, he was saying to him self “What should I say?”. Then he just remembered, he told his parents “Their, There, and They’re”. His parents laughed, “those are the same words” his parents said. James said “No they’re not, their means its in that person possession and it’s the persons belongings, there means a certain place, they’re means they are. His parents were proved wrong. James told them to use THEIR noodle not THERE noodle. They had a good laugh about the whole thing.
Dinner was over and it was time for bed, everyone got tucked in and got ready to go to sleep. The night went by. A very bad night, at 4 o’clock in the morning the Arizumi’s house got caught on fire. The Arizumi’s woke up to the fire alarm, his parents rushed into James’ room woke him up and took him out of his bed. They were all scared, they all got outside and they were all safe. James realized that the fire wasn’t that big, so he zoomed in his house and took all of his shoes and threw them outside, he went back inside of his house for the second time. He grabbed all of his shoe boxes, he stacked them up and went down the stairs. He tripped and all of them went flying and went into the fire. He was about to cry, he got so upset. He didn’t know what to do, he just did what first popped up in his head. He reached into the fire really quickly and took the shoe boxes out, he quickly threw them so the fire won’t get on his hands. He thought if he needed anything else but he just couldn’t think at that moment, too much was going through his head at the time. He got outside with his family, he ran into his mom and dad’s arms. Then he looked down at his boxes and his shoes. As soon as he thought his day couldn’t get worse. It did. His Mama Bears and his Baby Bears fur and his shoe boxes that meant very much to him got caught on fire. He padded the fur and the boxes with his sweater as fast as he could to put the fire out. Then after he put the fire out that was on his shoes and his shoe boxes he looked down at his pants and they were on fire too. James took off the pants and just through them as far as he could he was so scared. He ran to his parents for comforting and started to cry.
The firefighters finally came, they took the fire out. The Arizumi’s spent the night at the Wageningen’s house. As soon as they got in their neighbors house they had a big talk. James’ parents told James that what he did was completely the opposite of what your supposed to do during a event of a fire. James’ Dad (Liam Sean) and his Mom (Stussy) were very upset with him. Liam and Stussy both told James that your not supposed to go back into a house during a fire multiple times and when your on fire your not supposed to take off the clothes you have on and through them away from you. The right thing to do is get out of the house as soon as you can and meet your family members in a designated spot. And if you or your clothes are caught on fire your supposed to first: Stop what your doing, second: Drop to the ground, then third: Roll on the ground. James knew what he did was wrong, but he just loves his shoes so much that he would do anything for them.
Liam Sean and Stussy grounded James for what he did that night, they want him to learn from what he did. James took a big risk of going back into his house that night. Liam and Stussy really care about their family and they hate to lose family members. So they’re just being hard on James because they want him to know how scared he got them, and what could of happened to James if he just stayed in that house for 2 more seconds. God knows what could have happened. Family should be a really big part in a person’s life. Family is where you go for support. Family is where you go if you need a helping hand. Family is where you go to if you just want to have some fun.
