Wear your Sneakers; Love your Sneakers Sole collector article

"For my last sneaker tidbit in this column, I implore readers to do two things: wear your shoes, and love your shoes. It just seems lately that no one really wears their shoes anymore, instead just wearing them for certain events or special occasions. You have a nice pair of PlayStation Air Force 1's? "Wear them!" I always hear people say, "They are my holy grails. They are ma favorite pair of shoes ever." Really? Then wear them! Not because there's a Dunkxchange or Sneaker Pimps event coming up, or you want to impress someone, wear them just because. Wear them in the middle of the week to the supermarket, or to run errands, just because you love wearing them, not because they might turn heads or because you'll get props from sneakerheads. Wear them until they are trashed and you have fond memories of them. That's when the search begins for another pair, or you can break out the fresh pair you stocked because that's just how you roll.

Either way, that's the beauty of sneakers - you become attached to them, and you search for a fresh pair (or even two or three). Lately, all I see is folks who get something just to acquire them, and it really doesn't mean anything to them. What happens then? They probably get them just to get some love and then re-sell them within a few months. Is that what sneakers are about? Is that what sneaker culture has become? I hope not. So I implore readers to break out something nice and rock it- just because"
